DESCRIPTION: A gall mite causes the flower buds to swell especially towards the top of the stem. They are fleshy and unevenly conical and green in colour, eventually turning brownish, with each gall up to 10mm in length and containing several mites. DISTRIBUTION: Quite frequent especially in southern counties. HABITAT: Found on the flower buds of Lady's Bedstraw and Hedge Bedstraw.
